what you need
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. crushed garlic
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp. dried mixed herbs
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 lb. (500g) ground beef
- 2 tsp. tomato paste
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 8 oz. (250g) mushrooms quartered (optional)
- 1 pkg. spaghetti
make it
In a medium pot, add the oil. When the oil has heated up add the garlic and chopped onion, herbs and seasoning. Cook till the onions are transparent. Add the ground beef. I personally like the beef to be in very small pieces so I grind them with the back of the wooden spoon.
Once the beef is cooked, add the tomato paste and cook for 5 minutes. Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the mushrooms. Turn the heat down and leave to cook. The longer that this cooks the better it tastes, so I add water till were ready to eat. 20 minutes before serving make your pasta.
Notes
A tip: If you leave your pasta and it sticks together. Boil the kettle and pour water over the pasta just before serving.
Or you could mix the Bolognese sauce in with the cooked pasta.
