what you need
- 1 baguette sliced on diagonal
- 3 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil, divided
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sliced crimini, button and shitake mushrooms
- 2 fresh garlic cloves mashed
- 3 scallions, chopped fine
- 1 tsp. fresh thyme
- 8 oz. Philadelphia Cream Cheese Regular
make it
On a baking sheet in a single layer arrange sliced baguette. Brush with 1 Tbsp. of oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Broil till golden brown about 4 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Meanwhile make mushroom topping. In a large skillet heat the remaining 2 Tbsp. olive oil. Add mushrooms, garlic and scallions. Saute till mushrooms are cooked through. Add thyme, salt and pepper.
Spread cream cheese on cooled baguette. Top with about a tablespoon of mushroom mixture, enjoy.
Notes
These go fast but do not top baguette ahead of serving time the bread can get soggy.
