what you need
- 4 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 cups onion, finely diced
- 1-1/2 cups celery, finely diced
- 1/2 cup green pepper, finely diced
- Salt and pepper
- 4 cups ketchup
- 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 dozen buns

In large pan, brown ground beef with onions, celery and green pepper. Season with some salt and pepper. Drain off fat.
Place ground beef in slow cooker, stir in ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, water and vinegar.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, stirring occasionally. If too dry, add a little water. Serve on buns.
