what you need
- 10 large tomatoes
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1 (Each) red, green, yellow, orange bell peppers
- 1 bunch scallions (green onions)
- 8-10 jalepenos
- 4 Serrano peppers
- 1 lime
- 1 lemon
make it
Chop up the above ingredients, except for the lime and lemon. Meanwhile, in a blender, finely mince the jalapenos and Serrano peppers. Mix in a large bowl thoroughly.
Roll the lemon, and the lime on the counter to soften the inside and get the most juice out.
Cut the lemon and lime in half, squeezing all the juice into the chopped mixture. Add the pepper mixture, and mix well. Ole!
Notes
**For hotter salsa, let it sit for an hour to overnight.
**The jalapenos & Serrano peppers are optional, of course, as not everyone likes spicy things!
Also, this salsa is a better alternative to the canned version as it has no preservatives, so don't feel guilty about eating it by the spoonful! We make this at my house all the time, and can't make it fast enough!!!!
