what you need
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 large jar garlic and herb spaghetti sauce
- 1 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
- Large box of ziti or spaghetti pasta
make it
Heat slow-cooker on high, trim fat off of chicken breasts. Add olive oil to bottom of slow-cooker, and then add chicken breasts. Pour spaghetti sauce over chicken, add pepper and onions.
Cook on high for four hours or until chicken is done (use meat thermometer). 20 minutes before chicken is done, prepare pasta as directed on the box.
When chicken is cooked through, use a fork and knife to shred the chicken breasts. Stir in the slow cooker, let cook for another ten minutes.
Drain noodles. Serve chicken and sauce on top of noodles. Enjoy with some garlic bread and a salad!
Notes
Shredding the chicken saves money. Serving an entire chicken breast to each person would double the cost of this recipe.
