Creamy Lemon Meringue Pie

- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup lemon juice, from concentrate
- Few drops yellow food coloring (optional)
- 1 (8 or 9") baked pastry shell
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/3 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F. In mixing bowl, beat egg yolks; add milk, lemon juice and food coloring. Pour into crust.
In mixer bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar to soft peaks. Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff. Spread on pie; seal to edge.
Bake 12-15 minutes. Cool and chill.
Notes
My grandmother used to make this one, a lot, when I was a child. It's delicious and your family will enjoy it a lot.
