Chocolate-Cream Cheese Cupcakes

what you need
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz./250 g) cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg. (12 oz./300 g.) semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
make it
Cheese mixture - Beat cream cheese with sugar and egg until smooth. Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chips.

Cake mixture - Melt butter with 1 cup chocolate chips. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix with a fork until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.

Spoon 3/4 of the cake mixture into 18 large paper-lined muffin tins. Spoon cheese mixture evenly over batter. Spoon on remaining cake batter.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
Notes
If only one muffin tin at a time, place leftover batter in fridge until ready to use.
