Chocoholic Brownies (Frosting - Optional)

what you need
  • Brownies
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Frosting (optional)
  • 1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. boiling water
make it
Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate together. Sift together flour and salt. Add liquid ingredients to egg mixture, alternately with dry ingredients.

Spread in greased 9" square pan.

Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven for 20 - 25 minutes.

Frosting (optional)
Melt together unsweetened chocolate and margarine. Add confectioners' sugar and mix well. Add boiling water, a little at a time, until mixture is the consistency of frosting.
Cool brownies thoroughly before spreading frosting on the top.

I sometimes just sift confectioners' sugar on the top instead of the frosting. Also very good without any frosting or confectioners' sugar.
