Strawberry Pretzel Dessert

what you need
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1 package (8 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 1 large container Cool Whip Topping
  • 2 small packages Jell-O Strawberry Gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages (8 oz. each) frozen strawberries with juice partially thawed

Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix and pat into a 9x13-inch pan: crushed pretzels, 1/2 cup sugar, and melted butter. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool.

Cream together: cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and Cool Whip. Spread on cooled pretzel crust.

Mix: Jell-O and water. Chill. When mix begins to thicken, add strawberries. When almost set, spread strawberry mixture over the creamed cheese mixture. Refrigerate until firm.
The servings on this are large and this is a rich dessert so I actually make about 24 servings out of this single recipe.
