Makes: 15 servings Total Time: 35 min
Category: Appetizers Sub Category: Hot Dips

what you need
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 2 packages taco mix
  • 3 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) Nacho Fiesta Cheese Soup
  • 3 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) cheddar cheese soup
  • 3 cans milk (can from the cheese soups)
  • 1 lb. Velveeta Cheese
  • 2 bags PLAIN tortilla chips
  • Pickled jalapeno peppers (optional)
make it
Brown ground meat and drain. Add taco seasoning and cook according to instructions.

While that is simmering, in a large pot, add the cans of soups. Have this on a medium to low heat. After the cheese is hot, then add the milk and stir with a wire whisk.

Cube the Velveeta Cheese and add to cheese and milk. Stir continuously, so that the cheese will not stick. After all the Velveeta cheese is melted, take this off of the heat.

Drain all juice from meat and add to the cheese mixture. Sir well and use a ladle to dip this over the tortilla chips, adding peppers to taste.
I make this for party dips. I started making this as a meal. It can be served as a taco salad by adding lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. This can also be served with the meat on the chips and not added to the cheese mixture.
