Death by Chocolate Cake

what you need
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN'S sour cream
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package Devil's Food cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (4 serving size) Instant Jell-O Chocolate Fudge flavor pudding & pie filling
  • 1 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Confectioner's sugar, for garnish

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan (or coat the pan with nonstick baking spray).

2. Beat eggs, sour cream, oil, and water on low until combined, about 1 minute. Add dry cake mix and dry pudding mix. Beat for 2-3 minutes on medium until thoroughly combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

3. Pour batter into bundt pan and bake 45-55 minutes or until fork inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and immediately invert onto a serving platter. Remove pan. Cool completely.

4. Sift powdered sugar over the top of the cooled cake.
Notes
This recipe can be varied by using different chocolate flavors of the cake mix and the pudding mix. You can also vary the type and size of the chocolate chips.

Rated  by kitkat1955 on 8/30/2011 This was an awesome cake! My husband is a certified choco-holic and he really liked this. I love Bundt cakes (don't have to frost them!) and this was so easy. SUPER moist. Even after three days, it was as moist as the first night. Very rich and decadent.I dusted the top of each slice with powdered sugar, which I thought was perfect, but Mr. Chocolate thought it could do with a little drizzle of fudge sauce!
