Mammie's Banana Bread

Makes: 2 med. loaves or 24 muffins Total Time: 1 hr

what you need
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup real butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups banana, smashed (about 2)
  • 4 Tbsp. sweet milk (whole milk)
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
make it
Preheat oven to 350. Mix sugar and butter together, add one egg at a time and beat really good. Add banana, sweet milk.

Mix together flour and baking powder add to other mixture slowly. When mixed thoroughly add the vanilla. Beat well.

Pour into greased loaf pans or muffin tins.
Bake 25 minutes for muffins.
Bake 50-55 minutes for loaves.
Notes
This is my grandmother's recipe, it is over 100 years old! It is the best recipe for banana bread I have ever made. The sweet milk is the key I think.
