Makes: 4 servings Total Time: 30 min
Category: Dinner Entrees Sub Category: Beef Entrees

what you need
  • 8 slices smoky bacon
  • 1 package extra crispy frozen French fries
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 beef or pork hot dogs diced
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. grill seasoning, Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • Vegetable oil, for drizzling
  • 4 slices deli sliced cheddar cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 4 Kaiser rolls, split
make it
Preheat the broiler to High. Cook bacon in broiler 10 inches about flame for 3-4 minutes on each side until crisp. Remove and put onto a plate.

Adjust oven to bake, setting the temperature to the recommended temp on the package of the fries and bake the fries.

While the fries cook, make the burgers. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Mix the beef with the chopped hot dogs, chili powder, grill seasoning, and ketchup. Form 4 large patties.

Add a drizzle of vegetable oil once around the skillet and add the patties. Cook the burgers for 6 minutes on each side, then top each with 2 slices of bacon and 1 slice of cheddar cheese. Turn the heat off, cover the pan with a loose piece of foil and let the cheese melt for 1-2 minutes.

When the fries are extra crisp remove them from the oven. Place the butter and the garlic in a small dishand. Microwave on high for 20 seconds, and then transfer the fries to a large bowl. Toss the fries with the butter and garlic and chives and season with salt.

Slather the chili sauce on top of the bottom Kaiser rolls. Place the burger on the bottom of the roll and set the top of roll on top. Pile fries alongside the burger and serve.
