what you need
  • 1.5 lb. ground beef
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1.5 Tbsp. season salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Optional Toppings:
  • 1 can (16 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg. brown gravy
  • 4 slices bacon
make it
Preheat the oven to 350-400°F depending on altitude. Place meat in large bowl, add all ingredients, and mix well.

Form into a loaf and place in a baking dish or loaf pan. Do not add toppings yet.

Bake for 1 hour. At that time remove all oils in dish and then poke holes in loaf with a large fork. Then pour which ever optional topping you choose on top. **Reduce heat in oven (200°F) and continue to bake for 30 minutes.
**If using the tomato sauce, place the bacon on before you pour the sauce over the meat and do not reduce heat. Put back into oven for 15 minutes then pour sauce over the top of bacon and bake for least 15 minutes.
