Turkey Porcupines in Basil Tomato Sauce

what you need
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup Minute Rice
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 cup water
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shell noodles
make it
In large bowl combine turkey, rice, onion, salt and pepper. Mix well and shape into 16 balls. In medium or large skillet lightly brown meatballs in oil.

Mix together sugar, basil, water and tomato sauce. Pour over browned meatballs in skillet. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes, stir occasionally.

While meatballs are cooking, cook shell noodles according to package directions. Place cooked meatballs into a serving bowl. Pour sauce over cooked shell noodles.
Notes
Serve with a vegetable, we like green beans, and grated parmesan cheese.
