Strawberry Cheesecake Bliss Trifle

what you need
  • 2 1/2 qts. strawberries, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 1/4 Tbsp. almond extract (or Amaretto, almond liquer), divided
  • 2 pkgs. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 16 oz. whipped topping
  • 1 angel food cake, cut into pieces
make it
Mix strawberries with sugar and 3 Tbsp. of almond extract or Amaretto; set aside. In a separate bowl, mix with a hand mixer cream cheese, sour cream, confectioners' sugar, vanilla and remaining almond extract or Amaretto; fold in the whipped topping.

Layer: 1/2 angel food cake, 1/2 strawberries and 1/2 the cream cheese mixture into a large trifle bowl. Repeat. Garnish with whipped topping and additional strawberries.

Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving!
This is a delicious new take on strawberry shortcake! I have a friend who makes this and adds milk chocolate and white chocolate pieces to hers...
