Easy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

what you need
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes (about 6-8 medium)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
make it
1. In buttered 2-quart baking dish, place a layer of about 1/3 of the potatoes.

2. In a cup or small bowl, combine flour with salt and pepper. Sprinkle about 1/2 of the flour mixture over the potatoes; repeat with another layer of potatoes and the flour mixture. Top with remaining potato slices. Dot with butter then pour hot milk over potatoes.

3. Cover and bake at 375°F for 45 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle cheese over the top. Return to the oven and baked, uncovered, for an additional 15 minutes, or until scalloped potatoes are tender and cheese has melted.

Rated  by Reba62880 on 6/16/2010 Easy and tasty.My husband and I really liked this dish. Only problem was that even though I used a 2-quart baking dish it cooked over and made terrible a mess in my oven. I will use bigger dish or place another dish under it next time
