Makes: 4 dozen Total Time: 1 hr 30 min
Category: Desserts Sub Category: Other

what you need
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
make it
Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Lightly grease donut pan. Mix all dry ingredients flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter in a separate medium bowl, and stir into the dry ingredients.

Fill each donut cup approximately 3/4 full.

Bake 10-12 minutes in the oven, until donuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
You can find mini donut pans at kitchen specialty stores and some mass retailers. If you cannot find a mini pan a pan for regular sized donuts would work also, you just wouldn't have as many donuts. Chances are you will not find a pan that will make the whole 4 dozen at once so you may have to reuse the same pan several times or use more than one pan.
