what you need
- 2 cups water
- 16 oz. Miracle Whip
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 4 cups flour
make it
Put all wet ingredients in a large bowl. Add sugar and sifted dry ingredients. Mix well with no lumps.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13 or 2 (9 in.) round pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 min for 2 (9 in.) pans, 45 min for 9 x 13 until toothpick comes out clean.
Notes
Very dense and chocolaty cake. We have been using this for birthdays since I was a child and it is the best scratch recipe for easiness. Enjoy!
