what you need
- 1 cup melted butter
- 2 3/4 cups white sugar
- 1 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
make it
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13" pan, or for easy removal and clean-up, line the pan with parchment paper and give it a light spritz of non-stick spray.
Combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F. until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (35-40 minutes). Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
Notes
This recipe, when doubled, will fit perfectly in a 12x17" half sheet pan (though it takes some muscle to mix that much batter!) These are very dense, very fudgy brownies!
