Baked American Spaghetti

what you need
  • 1 large can tomato puree
  • Garlic
  • Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 to 1 lb. hamburger
  • 3 teaspoons vegetable cooking oil
  • 1 lb. thin spaghetti
  • 1/2 lb. Velveeta Cheese
make it
Combine your tomato puree, garlic, Italian seasoning, hamburger and vegetable cooking oil in a 4 quart pot. Cook until you prepare your spaghetti as directed on the box for al dente. When spaghetti is cooked add to sauce.

Cut up 1/2 the cheese into chunks, add to sauce and stir. Place other 1/2 of the cheese cut into slices on top of spaghetti.

Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes after removing it from the oven.
You do not have to add the meat if you don't want, but it does give it a better flavor. My mom always made this for our family as we were growing up. Excellent for a cool night and not much time.

Rated  by kgrote on 11/29/2004 This was a great break from the normal boring spaghetti! The recipe is missing the exact amounts of a garlic and spice but I was able to manage.
