Beer Batter Halibut

what you need
  • 1 can flat Heineken beer
  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick mix
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 4 lbs halibut cut into fingers or sticks
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. butter/oleo
  • 4 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Johnny's Seafood Seasoning

Combine beer, Bisquick and paprika. Whisk to make a smooth, not too thick batter.

Fold in the halibut, and season batter with salt and pepper.

Fry halibut in butter and oil for about 7 minutes per side, depending on their thickness. Sprinkle both sides with seafood seasoning. Make sure the heat is high enough to brown the fish and form a crust. Serve with wedges of fresh lemon.
