what you need
- 4 pieces smoked turkey drumsticks/wings
- 2 large containers Swanson chicken broth
- 1 onion, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup distelled vinegar
- Salt/pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 pounds fresh collard green
make it
Boil turkey pieces in chicken broth for 15-20 min. to soften turkey meat. Add onions, vinegar, salt and pepper, and sugar. Boil for another 5 minutes.
Add cleaned and cut collard greens and 2 cups of water. Lower heat to low/medium and cook for about 2 hours or until greens are very dark colored.
Notes
Greens will fill your pot until they cook down. Keep the lid on the pot during the cooking process, this will help produce water.
