what you need
  • 2 cans ready to eat cherry pie filling
  • 7UP (regular, not diet)
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • Whipped cream (optional)
make it
In large bowl mix together cherry pie filling and 7UP and stir until well mixed. Pour into an ungreased 9x13 cake pan.

Sprinkle DRY cake mix over the top of the cherry mixture and stir just until moistened. Do not over-mix.

Bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 30 minutes. Mixture will not brown or look cake like.
May be served warm or at room temperature. May be served with whipped cream. Refrigerate after use. This is another one of those things that my mom made frequently during the 50's and it was a very popular dessert.
