Chicken Breasts in Cream Sauce

what you need
  • 8 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sticks butter, melted
  • 2 cans (10 1/2 oz. each) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups sour cream
make it
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Arrange chicken breasts in a greased 11 x 13" shallow casserole dish. Season with salt and pepper. Pour melted butter over all.

In a medium mixing bowl combine remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken.

Bake uncovered for 1 hour.
Notes
This dish is simple enough for a weeknight meal or elegant enough for company. The sauce makes an excellent gravy for mashed potatoes.
