Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheese Ball

what you need
  • 1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Dash of almond extract
  • 3/4-1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Graham crackers / vanilla & chocolate wafers / gingersnaps / pretzels
make it
1) In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and extracts until fluffy. Gradually add sugars; beat just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

2) Place cream cheese mixture on a large piece of plastic wrap; shape into a ball.

3) Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. (Recommend covering in parchment paper and freezing to get solid). Just before serving, roll cheese ball in pecans. Serve with graham crackers.
Notes
Do not reduced fat cream cheese, ball will not set.

Alternative toppings: butterscotch chips, crushed Oreo Cookies and mini candy-shelled chocolate pieces.
