Chocolate Lover's Chocolate Chip Cake

what you need
  • 1 pkg. (2-layer cake) devil's food chocolate cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (8-serving size) JELL-O Instant Chocolate Pudding & Pie Filling
  • 1 cup BREAKSTONE'S Sour Cream
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, mix together cake and pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, eggs and water. Mix well. Batter will be thick. Stir in chocolate chips.

Prepare 12-cup bundt pan by buttering thoroughly or spraying with non-stick cooking spray. Pour batter into pan evenly.

Bake for 50-60 minutes or until top is springy to the touch. Do Not Overbake! Cool thoroughly in pan. Invert cake onto serving dish.
Cake can be served plain, garnished with fresh raspberries or strawberries, sprinkled with powdered sugar, drizzled with warm icing or with vanilla or coffee ice cream.

This is truly a cake for people who LOVE chocolate! The sour cream keeps the cake SO moist! We mostly eat it plain.

It can serve more people depending on how big you make the slices! But believe me - they always come back for more!!! Enjoy!

Rated  by noelle69 on 4/13/2009 SO MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED! It was super moist and flavorful. I made a small batch of ganache to pour over the top (4oz. chocolate chips and 3 tbsp cream melted together) It was a hit and there were no leftovers!
