Creamy Strawberry Shortcake

- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and washed, diced
- 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 large box Jell-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
- 2 cups milk
- 1 angel food cake, sliced thin
- 1 tub Cool Whip Whipped Topping

Mix strawberries and sugar well before beginning so that the berries can get nice and juicy. In a separate bowl, prepare pudding as directed on box.
In a dish or serving bowl, place a layer of thinly sliced angel food cake. Top with half of strawberries. Top strawberries with half of pudding followed by a layer of whipped cream. Continue to layer until all ingredients used.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
You can also substitute fresh peaches for the strawberries in this recipe.
