Dark Chocolate Banana Brownies

what you need
  • 2 cups dark chocolate pieces
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 banana
make it
Melt chocolate pieces, butter and shortening over hot (not boiling) water until completely melted.

Combine sugar, eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add melted chocolate mixture to sugar and mix well. Next add flour and blend together. Cut banana into whatever thickness you like and fold into mixture.

Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F. Let cool for about 20 minutes and enjoy.
Notes
The chocolate pieces are not for baking. I normally use them for dipping, but found that they worked just as good for baking.

I thought the banana, once cooked added a very unique flavor. Who doesn't like chocolate and banana?

Rated  by a cook on 1/1/2004 I would have made this recipe except that it does not state what size pan to use and whether you should grease it the pan.
