what you need
- 1.5 lb. ground meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can chopped tomato
- 1 egg
- Pinches of flour
- 1 can tomato sauce
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic powder
make it
Mix all the ground beef, vegetables and the egg together and make decently thick patties. Roll patties in flour and lightly brown in a skillet. Put patties in 9x13 pan
Drain all grease but about 4 Tbsp. Mix a little flour with grease until a gravy is made. Pour 1 large can of tomato sauce into flour mix after browning flour in skillet. Season to taste. Stir fast and over low heat. Bring sauce to a boil and pour over patties--the sauce will be somewhat thick.
Cook dish at 325°F for about 30 minutes.
Notes
This can be used with ground turkey for a healthier alternative.
For every pound of beef (extra) add an extra egg, tomato sauce, chopped tomato and onion.
