Easy Beef and Rice Skillet

what you need
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin (may substitute chili powder)
  • 1 jar Taco Bell Home Originals Thick & Chunky Salsa (Hot)
  • 2 cups instant white or brown rice, prepared
  • 1 package (8 oz.) Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. When hot, reduce heat to medium and add ground beef, onion, garlic and seasonings. Saute about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is completely browned and vegetables are tender. Drain off grease.

Stir in salsa. Cover skillet and simmer 10 minutes.

Spoon over prepared rice. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Serve and enjoy!
