what you need
- Cookies
- 1/4 cup butter
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. cake mix (any kind, I use devil's food)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- Cream Cheese Frosting
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tsp. milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Dash of salt
- 1-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
make it
Cookies
Cream butter and cream cheese. Blend in egg yolk and vanilla. Add cake mix 1/3 at a time, mix well. Add chopped walnuts. Chill dough 1/2 hour.
Drop by tsp. full onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 min. at 375 until delicately browned. Frost right away.
Frosting (make while dough cools)
Blend cream cheese, milk, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add sugar until smooth.
If you want both vanilla and chocolate frosting, divide in half.
Melt 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, cool, add to mixture before adding sugar. If all chocolate, add 2 oz. chocolate. This is best.....
For easier frosting, place 2 sq. milk chocolate bar on cookie as soon as out of oven.
