what you need
- 2 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- Onion
- Mince garlic
- 1 large jar of spaghetti sauce (Prego, or Ragu or your family’s preference)
- 1 box lasagna noodles no bake type
- 1 large bag Italian cheese (dairy section)
make it
In large skillet brown ground beef; drain any fat. Add onion, garlic and let cook for a few minutes with ground beef. Add a little water at this point if needed (just a teaspoon or two, not much) to let the garlic and onion flavor join in the ground beef. After about 5 minutes add spaghetti sauce and let simmer you may need to add about a 1/4 cup of water at this time so it will not thicken too much.
In large Dutch oven add water and let start to boil. After it starts to boil add lasagna noodles and let them soften. Once the noodles are done you can pour off hot water and add cold water and let the noodles set for a few minutes.
Get a large baking pan and spray it or put aluminum foil in it. Start by adding noodles in it first, then a layer of sauce, and a layer of cheese. Repeat several times - noodles, sauce and cheese until you reach about a 1/4 inch from the top of the pan.
Then place in a preheated 350 degree F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbling. Serve with salad and vegetable.
