German Apple Bread

what you need
  • Bread Ingredients
  • l/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp. sour milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • Topping Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. butter (cold)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
make it
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine and mix all bread ingredients in large bowl. Mixture will be thick - pour into greased, 9x5 bread loaf pan.

Mix topping ingredients in small bowl and mix well until it has a crumbly texture. Sprinkle topping on bread.

Bake approximately l hour - until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm.
This is very tasty, and good to either serve in the morning, or in the afternoon with coffee.
