Grandma's Hahn's German Chicken & Dumplings

what you need
- 3-4 lb. chicken
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
make it
Cover chicken with water, add 1 Tbsp. salt and cook in covered pan until tender. Remove from the pan, remove skin and bones and set deboned chicken aside. Put about 2 cups of the broth in a dish to cool.
While preparing the dumplings, heat the remainder of the broth to boiling. Mix flour, baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt. Add enough cooled broth to make batter stiff enough to roll out like a pie crust.
Roll it out on a flour board and cut into squares. Then drop the squares into the boiling broth and cook on medium heat for 25-30 minutes.
