Louisianna red beans and rice

what you need
  • 3 cups Minute Rice , cooked,1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 to 1/2 lbs turkey sauage, bite size pieces, one pepper, we like red, chopped. 1 lg onion chopped, 2 cans red beans, 3 ribs of celery sliced, 6 cloves minced,2 bay leaves, 1 teas ground thyme, 1 teaspoon red (cayenne) pepper, 1/2 teas black pepper, 1 teas salt, 1 teas Creole seasoning. water if needed
make it
Heat oil in large non-stick fry panover medium-high heat. cook sausage stiring constantly till no longer pink,about 10 minutesAdd all remaining ingredient , except rice, and water if necessay tio thin out mixture. simmer for 30 minutes.Serve over cooked rice.
I found the prep took the longest cutting everything up that is why I put one hour for total. It is a little spicy so be forewarned . we loved it wWhile saugae was browning I cut everything else up and with seasonings put into one bowl and dumped it into frypan when sausage was done.

Rated  by swedebaby on 9/24/2012 I like the addition of the red peppers and celery & made for an attractive presentation. I used what was on hand; one can Red kidney & one can of Chili Beans. Quick & easy to make.
