Makes: 3 cups Total Time: 30 min
Category: Appetizers Sub Category: Hot Dips

what you need
  • 1 loaf French bread, cubed
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion, chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer
  • 4 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2-4 Tablespoons half-and half cream
make it
Place bread in an ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 450 degrees F for 5-7 minutes, stirring twice.

In a medium saucepan, saute onion and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in beer. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium low. Toss Kraft Cheddar Cheese and flour; stir into saucepan until melted. Stir in 2 Tablespoons cream.

Transfer to a small ceramic fondue pot or slow cooker; keep warm. Add additional cream if fondue thickens. Serve with toasted bread cubes.
Notes
The bread can be done at a little lower temperature. Do it for half the time, and right before you want to serve it, put it back in the oven and finish it. Having the bread warm made a big difference as to how people loved this recipe!!!
