Maple Butterscotch Brownies

what you need
  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Confectioners' sugar, optional
make it
1. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, butter and maple flavoring. Beat in the eggs, one at time. Combine flour and baking powder; add to egg mixture. Sir in walnuts.

2. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick come out clean. Cool dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.
Notes
Once you have tired the brownies, you will be in chocolate haven.

Rated  by Kasey1223 on 11/23/2011 It seems there is no butterscotch in this recipe, so perhaps a better name for them would be "Maple Walnut Brownies" Also, your note at the end of the recipe states that I will be in "chocolate heaven." Well, there is no chocolate in the recipe either.
