Makes: 20-30 servings Total Time: 30 min
Category: Appetizers Sub Category: Crackers With Toppings

what you need
  • 1 small can chilies
  • 1 cup Kraft MIRACLE WHIP (I use MIRACLE WHIP Free)
  • 1 stick melted butter/margarine
  • 8 ounces Kraft Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced
make it
Turn on broiler. In a medium mixing bowl, add chilies, MIRACLE WHIP, melted butter/margarine and shredded cheese.

Place garlic on cutting board and with the flat side of knife, "smash" the garlic clove, then dice. Add to bowl. Mix till everything is well blended.

Lay out slices of bread on cookie sheets. Spread enough spread mixture on each slice of bread to cover top. Leave a little space near edges. Broil till bubbly and slightly browned.
Notes
Tastes best served right away.

If you purchase your French bread at a grocer with a bakery, they can possibly slice the loaf for you. It will keep the bread from getting too hard after baking, will keep fresh till you are ready to bake, and not to mention, easer for you!!
