Mom's Easy Stuffing

what you need
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder or 4 cloves mashed
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1 grated small zucchini
  • 1/2 cup butter or chicken fat
  • 1 cup aspic
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 2 quarts dried bread cubes, 1 inch square
make it
Saute the onions, garlic, celery, peppers, & zucchini in the butter, for 5 minutes or so. Then add the aspic, water, salt, seasoning & sage. Simmer for 15 minutes. Then add to the bread cubes, mix well, place in greased baking dish.

To bake with pork or poultry, cover with wire cooling rack. Place prepared meat(s) on rack. Bake at 350°F for 45-60 minutes. Roasts require more time so the stuffing should be baked only for the last hour uncovered.
