Mom's Favorite Apple Walnut Cake

what you need
  • 4-5 small-medium tart apples
  • Lemon water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice
make it
Grease a Bundt pan with Crisco. Peel and slice apples into chunks and place in lemon water to keep from turning brown. Sift onto wax paper the flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.

In a large bowl beat together sugar and oil. Add vanilla and the eggs 1 at a time. Beat well. Add flour mix. Add walnuts and apples.

Bake about 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Glaze cake as soon as it is turned out of cake pan. Drizzle glaze over warm cake and enjoy!!
