Never-Fail Pie Crust

Makes: 2 - 2 crust pies Total Time: 1 hr 30 min

what you need
  • 4 1/2 - 5 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 5 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar (scant)
make it
Sift flour and salt together. Add shortening.

Mix together egg, milk, and vinegar; add to the flour mixture.

Mix well and roll out. Makes 4 (large) pie crusts.
Notes
Put extras in freezer.

Lost my original. Used to call for shortening or lard. After many trials this seems to be the original, and seems to have the best results.
