Oriental Chicken Dip (from Anita)

what you need
  • BASE:
  • 3 blocks cream cheese
  • 5 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • TOPPING:
  • 2-3 chicken breasts, shredded
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley (cilantro is very tasty instead of parsley)
  • 3/4 cups cashews chopped
  • 1/2 clove minced garlic
  • Orange zest (go easy)
  • Salt/ pepper to taste
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • 3 oz. sesame oil
  • GLAZE:
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • Splash of vinegar
  • Dash of Worcestershire
  • Dash of Tabasco
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch (optional)
make it
Mix base ingredients. Spread on large platter.

Mix topping ingredients. Place on cream cheese base.

Combine glaze ingredients (except cornstarch) in saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and add the cornstarch to thicken if necessary. Drizzle warm glaze over dip. Serve with crackers.
