Makes: 3 to 4 dozen Total Time: 45 min
Category: Cookies Sub Category: Other

what you need
  • 1/2 cup sugar plus 1 Tablespoon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
make it
Combine sugar, brown sugar, soft butter until fluffy; add peanut butter, vanilla and egg. In another bowl mix: flour, baking soda, salt, mix well and add chocolate chips. Mix to wet ingredients and mix until all is well blended.

Take small dollops and shape into 1" balls - place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Dip fork in sugar and flatten balls lightly.

Bake 375°F for 6 to 9 minutes. Set on rack to cool.
My family loves the mixture of peanut butter and chocolate, so needless to say, this recipe is made often!

I always have some in the freezer for when my grandson comes to visit. It is also one of the cookies that I make at Christmas - ships well.
