what you need
  • 6 (6-ounce) bone-in center-cut pork loin chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 can (14-ounce) chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • Freshly ground pepper (optional)
make it
1. Trim fat from chops. Brown chops, in batches, in hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place chops in a 4 1/2 quart electric slow cooker.

2. Combine broth, mustard, salt, and garlic powder; stir well. Pour broth mixture over pork chops in slow cooker. Cover with lid; cook on HIGH 1 hour. Reduce to LOW; cook 4 hours or until pork chops are tender. Remove pork chops from slow cooker, reserving cooking liquid. Set chops aside, and keep warm. Increase to HIGH.

3. Place flour in a small bowl. Gradually add 1 cup cooking liquid to flour, stirring with a wire whisk until well blended. Stir flour mixture into cooking liquid in slow cooker. Cook, uncovered, 10 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Spoon gravy over chops; sprinkle with pepper, if desired.

Rated  by babysister20042003 on 2/4/2007 This is greart for my household. I drive for seniors and I don't get home until 5:30 or possilbe 6:30 at night and my boyfriend is a roofer and he gets home late at times, so this recipe is the beat for walking inthe door and grabbing a plate to have dinner together without waiting for it to be cooked. It's already for us to eat. Great Recipe.
