Pumpkin Chocolate Bread

what you need
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup cooked fresh or canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
make it
Combine sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pumpkin pie spice, and flour in mixing bowl. Add water, eggs, salad oil, and pumpkin. Beat until thoroughly combined and smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Oil a 9x5" loaf pan, line with aluminum foil, then oil the foil. Turn pumpkin mixture into loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let cool in pan, remove and chill.
If making for gifts, pour into 6 small loaf pans. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Freezes well.
