Rum Cake/Eggnog Cake

what you need
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 package (3 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup Wesson oil
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons rum flavoring
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)
  • RUM SAUCE TOPPING
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter flavoring
make it
Combine all ingredients and beat for 10 minutes.

Pour into well-greased tube pan.

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until done. Keep cake warm.

Rum Sauce
Combine sugar and rum - boil for 3 minutes, add flavoring and pour over cake while still warm. I also use 2 tablespoons of orange juice and orange peel or zest.
