Makes: 6 servings Total Time: 30 min
Category: Dinner Entrees Sub Category: Beef Entrees

what you need
  • 1/2 box Stove Top Stuffing with Seasoning Mix
  • 1-3 cups water, divided
  • 1 lb. fresh hamburger meat, thawed
  • 1/4 cup diced onions, fine
  • 1 can cream of mushroom gravy
make it
First, empty out one half package of Stove Top Stuffing Mix in regular size mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup water. Stir and let stand five minutes. Mix in thawed hamburger meat and add 1/2 seasoning pack from Stove Top Stuffing Mix. Add onions and mix well.

Shape into hamburgers and slow cook on medium heat until lightly crisp on outside. You can tell they are done when outside begins to break open.

With hamburger remaining in pan, pour can of cream of mushroom gravy and one to two cups water (depending on your preference of how thick you like your gravy, the consistency does not change much after it is heated) into mixing bowl and mix well. Pour over hamburgers in pan and simmer with lid for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Notes
I really don't care much for meatloaf but I know my family loves gravy with just about anything. Potatoes and traditional gravy become boring after a while so I play around with different soups making them work as gravy for many of my quick dinner fixes. We have a large family and this always works out well for having enough. I serve them with buttered peas and carrots and mash potatoes. Takes little to no time to prepare and I get "this is good mom" every time. They never get tired of it.
