what you need
- 1 package crescent rolls
- 1 package mild or hot and spicy sausage
- 1 package cream cheese
make it
Set out your cream cheese so it can become room temperature. In a large skillet brown your sausage then drain once done. Preheat your oven to what the crescent rolls call for. Start laying out the rolls. Lay them out flat...do not roll them up yet. To make more appetizer size or party size rolls I cut them in half or even fourths sometimes.
After your sausage is done cut your cream cheese up into squares (to make melting easier) or throw it into the skillet so it can start melting. Once melted stir together your sausage and cream cheese. Take small amounts or big amounts...your preference...and add to your dough.
Roll the dough up like you would a regular crescent roll. Try to get the dough to cover your mixture. You don’t want your mixture falling out while baking. Then stick them in the oven and bake. Usually the crescent rolls only need 10 to 15 minutes.
Notes
This is an Italian breakfast, so what I have done before to if your not making it for a party is lay out the crescent roll dough into one big flat piece and I add the whole cream cheese mixture. Leave enough room so you can pull the dough up around the top of the mixture. This makes a good breakfast, lunch, dinner, side, or just a snack for you and others in your family or friends to enjoy. It's easier because you can just cut it up like a big sandwich or loaf of bread.
