Shan-Shan's Sweet & Sour Meatloaf

what you need
  • Meatloaf
  • 3 lb. ground beef (fat content 80%-20%)
  • 3 medium to large eggs
  • 1 sleeve crackers
  • 4 oz. (half can) tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 3 tbsp. Mrs. Dash Grill Seasoning "Steak"
  • 3 Tbsp. season all
  • Sweet & Sour Sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 4 Tbsp. mustard
  • 4 oz. (half can) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
make it
Meatloaf
Mix together ground beef, eggs, crackers, tomato sauce, ketchup, Mrs. Dash seasoning & season all. With hands, form into loaf.

Sweet & Sour Sauce
In medium sauce pan, heat water, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard & tomato sauce to boil. Reduce heat, add vinegar. Pour over the top of meatloaf.

Bake at 450 degrees for the first 30 minutes and reduce to 350 degrees for remaining 45 minutes. After first 30 minutes, any remaining sauce can be added to top of meatloaf.
Notes
The sweet & sour sauce measurements can be increased or decreased according to taste. Onions & peppers can also be added.
